Sedation Dentistry Will Relax Your Fears

Welcome back to our Illinois dentistry blog!

We hope that the information you receive here is beneficial to you and your family, and we hope that you will be inspired to come see us in-person sometime soon.

At Smile Glen Ellyn, we try to make it easy for you to receive all the oral health care you will need throughout your life by providing comprehensive dental solutions in one convenient location.

That said, we know that you may not be entirely comfortable coming to your Glen Ellyn, IL dentist’s office. Not because it isn’t a comfortable setting!

It’s a fact that just the thought of dentists and doctors makes some people nervous.

If you are hesitant at all, we can put you at ease with one of our sedation dentistry options.

Dental Anxiety Is A Real Condition

There are plenty of reasons why folks neglect their health and avoid their dentists. Dental anxiety is a real condition that we take seriously around here.

It’s alright to be nervous.

The problem is when you start doing everything you can to avoid getting proper care.

When you don’t let us do our part, your oral health and overall wellness can deteriorate quickly. Even if you are diligent about brushing and flossing at home, you are doing yourself a great disservice by avoiding your Glen Ellyn, IL dentist.

This is because professional teeth cleanings are the only effective way to eradicate bacteria, tartar, and plaque that will inevitably linger waiting to cause bigger problems for you. These problems can include cavities, gum disease, tooth loss, and worse.

Plus, if we don’t have the opportunity to regularly conduct dental exams, we won’t know if anything serious is unfolding until it is too late. By not being aware or by failing to confront the reality of your situation, whatever it may be, you are setting yourself up for more pain and expense later.

We Can Give You A Better Experience

Some of our patients can recall having had an unkind dentist when they were young, which is extremely unfortunate. Others remember having endured a painful procedure or being afraid of the dental drill.

Whatever has happened to you in the past, at Smile Glen Ellyn, we can give you better dental experiences moving forward.

We really are on your side. Our primary concern is to get you in here and get your health back on track as painlessly as possible. End of story. No lectures or condescending remarks await you in our office.

Honestly, the majority of folks who walk through our doors love it here.

In part, that is because we do everything we possibly can to make sure you don’t feel any pain or discomfort while you are entrusted to our care.

Beyond that, things have improved with dentistry in general over the years. It probably isn’t like you remembered it at all.

For instance, we have much better anesthetics than in previous eras, “Wand” syringeless delivery systems, and dental lasers at our disposal for much more comfortable treatments and procedures.

Don’t take our word for it, come in and see for yourself!

Sedation Dentistry Is A Gas!

No matter what kind of treatment you are supposed to be receiving, we can relax you when you get here with nitrous oxide, aka “laughing gas.”

This is our go-to sedation method for relaxing a mildly fearful patient.

Oral conscious sedation is our method for kicking anxiety control up a notch. These sedatives are delivered in a pill form and can reliably produce a very relaxed state in no time.

What’s more, we are among the few dental offices in the state of Illinois to be able to “put people asleep” using pill or IV dental sedation. And if that is what you require to receive the necessary treatment, we will not hesitate to go there.

We Can Help You Get Past Your Anxiety

We have a kind and compassionate staff at Smile Glen Ellyn, and providing gentle, pain-free dental visits for our patients is among our top concerns.

So, when you contact us today, please let us know how we can help make it easier for you!
