Trick-or-Treating Tips

by | Oct 31, 2014 | Blog

It’s that time again! Your children and neighbors will transform into ghoulish creatures, and you will spend your evening either following your little ones or enjoying the doorbell ringing all night long! We love the spirit and fun of Halloween night, but we do wish there was a way to protect those little smiles from all of the treats! There are a few things you can do to minimize the damage whether you are passing out candy or collecting it in buckets. Take a look below for some ideas!

Enjoying the Masses
If you are passing out candy to the littles of your neighborhood, you can help by selecting treats that are safer for smiles. The general rule is to pick candy that can be easily removed. Avoid things like caramel, taffy, stuffed suckers, and fruit chews as these things are difficult for children to brush off of their teeth.

Following the Kiddos
As a parent, you are certainly worried about that precious smile that you love so much! Carry water bottles to help your child rinse their teeth as they snack between houses, and to produce bacteria-fighting saliva. You should also limit the amount of candy your child eats, and help them floss and brush when you arrive back at home.

We hope your entire family has a wonderful evening, and we can’t wait to hear all about it! Contact us to set up your next appointment, and then get those costumes ready! From all of us here at the office, Happy Halloween!
